The welfare of our flocks are our number one priority. Always has been. Always will be. All of our birds from newborns to breeders are monitored twice monthly by our government registered vet.
Here’s a brief outline of the medication regime that we follow from day one onwards.
Day 0-6 Vetracin Premium Powder to increase the immune response and strengthen the lymphoid organ and Pure Honey as an energy source and natural antibiotic.
Day 7 Paracetamol Powder as an anti-fever medicine (repeated weekly).
Day 8 onwards Vitmin Pro vitamin supplement to boost the immune response.
Day 14-16 Tepox 48 Powder to prevent coccidiosis (more preventative given that our feeds contain an appropriate coccidiostat).
Day 35 Levamisole deworming medication for the treatment and prevention of internal parasites.
Days 56-62 Vetracin Premium to further prevent e-coli and other bacterial diseases.
Day 68 Fenbendazole deworming medication for the treatment and prevention of internal parasites.
Day 120 Albendazole deworming medication for the treatment and prevention of internal parasites.
Deworming is then repeated every three months.
in addition our birds are washed regularly (from chicks upwards) with Zeromite delousing medication.
Each breed is different and we let the vet guide us as to requirements but generally speaking the following procedures are followed by us.
Day 7 Hipraviar nasal spray as prevention of Newcastle’s Disease.
